Hair extensions: What could go wrong

Last February, I was walking with my friend Solène in New York. We went to the city in order to visit Grad schools in an attempt to determine what could I pursue after graduation (I was about to finish my undergrad degree in Commerce)*. After visiting the first school, it became clear to me: I was not ready to jump into grad school yet. To tell you the truth, I was extremely lost in my mind at that point. The hectic and crowded streets of New York, plus the high amount of caffeine in my veins had made me a tad irrational. So following that sudden epiphany, like a crazy person, I decided to enter the first hair salon I saw and asked to cut my hair below the chin line.
The hairstylist, with a thick Albanian accent said: "You shouldn't do that, you will look like a boy"

The time Marion Cotillard made me want to eat sushi (but I can't!)- Oscar Best and Worst Dressed

From billboard.com

Yesterday was the Oscars night and I had the chance to watch the show on a cinema screen, thanks to the movie theatre that was screening the ceremony live for a few lucky Montrealers. Big screen and high definition comes in very handy when it is time to watch the red carpet show before the ceremony. I got to observe the details of the dresses and jewelry very well... But this also means that we were able to notice the smallest flaws in hair and makeup. What, celebrities have pimples too!? It makes the whole thing a bit less magical but still...

My Stretch Marks Remedies

It has been almost 5 months now since I learned that I have a little bundle of joy growing inside me. To be honest, I just turned 23 years old and I still feel a bit young to have a baby. My heart is filled with fear, but excitement at the same time. The tatko* and I recently went to our third ultrasound and we still don't know if it is a boy or a girl! That is because the little monster did not want to turn around to reveal its identity (or should I say "his or her identity") !

Sport Bra Trend?

From nymag.com

I remember one day in high school when one of my female classmates decided that it was a good idea to mix two trends: sweatpants and black blazer on top. Back then, we knew that wasn't a fashion statement she was making... It was probably just before laundry day at her place, that's all. I think that everyone learned the lesson that mixing sportswear and work-like attire wasn't such a good idea.

If You Hate the Gym #2 (Pole Dance Edition)

No, it's not as easy as Mrs. Moss makes it look in this... In fact, when you are a beginner like Solène and I, it may look more like this.

For people asking: NO, this is not part of my post-undergrad job search!

If you Hate the Gym

Yes, I have tried to go to the gym... many times since my early teens. I hate the gym for many reasons. First, I can't stand running for no purpose. If I run, there will be a reason; my dog decided that a leash did not exist in his world or I am late somewhere*. I also hate it because I have to discipline myself to go, it is not scheduled classes. Not to mentioned that, in my university gym, they've placed the treadmills facing the walls and the weight stations just behind them, creating a nice view (or not so nice) for the boys-club**.
Anyway, so to get in shape and to feel energized and good in my own body, and to get that ballet-dancer-volleyball player body without actually playing the sport***, my friend Vanina and I decided to try that new thing in town: Essentrics. It is a mix of Ballet and Yoga moves that focus on creating long and lean muscles. That way, you don't end up with a man-like muscular body, the exercises are designed so that the muscle because strong and long, like a ballet dancer. The classes usually last 1 hour and are divided into two categories: Essentrics Barre and Essentrics.
