It's that time of the year again. No, I am not talking about the holidays, I am talking about the dry season caused by over heating our houses. During the summer, I always keep forgetting that winter is coming soon (especially in Canada). That's why I always buy summer clothes like there is no tomorrow. However, let's be honest here, summer in Montreal lasts about 3 months. I also tend to forget that winter makes my skin super dry, so dry that I cannot wear too much makeup. Adieu Matte lipstick! Adieu under-eye concealer! So much creasing everywhere!

I have discovered the power of concealer only recently. Obviously, the main purpose of concealer is to hide dark circles under the eyes and correct the skin. However, if you pick a concealer color that is lighter than your actual skin tone, it can become a great base liquid highlighter when you contour. You can place it on your forehead, bridge of the nose, cupid's bow and chin.

Last February, I was walking with my friend Solène in New York. We went to the city in order to visit Grad schools in an attempt to determine what could I pursue after graduation (I was about to finish my undergrad degree in Commerce)*. After visiting the first school, it became clear to me: I was not ready to jump into grad school yet. To tell you the truth, I was extremely lost in my mind at that point. The hectic and crowded streets of New York, plus the high amount of caffeine in my veins had made me a tad irrational. So following that sudden epiphany, like a crazy person, I decided to enter the first hair salon I saw and asked to cut my hair below the chin line.
The hairstylist, with a thick Albanian accent said: "You shouldn't do that, you will look like a boy"

Yesterday was the Oscars night and I had the chance to watch the show on a cinema screen, thanks to the movie theatre that was screening the ceremony live for a few lucky Montrealers. Big screen and high definition comes in very handy when it is time to watch the red carpet show before the ceremony. I got to observe the details of the dresses and jewelry very well... But this also means that we were able to notice the smallest flaws in hair and makeup. What, celebrities have pimples too!? It makes the whole thing a bit less magical but still...
